About the Chela's Newsletter
The Chela's Newsletter exists to provide an insight on what it means to live Dhunami as a Way of Life. Chelas are students of Dhunami. They submit their poetry, art, personal experiences, stories, and reviews for possible inclusion in the monthly letter. The contributing Dhunami chelas, all emanate Divine Love and their work overflows with Divine Spirit.
Without the courage to share your thoughts and feelings, this would no doubt be a short and dull little newsletter!
Or send regular mail to:
Dhunami
P.O. Box 35211
Las Vegas, NV 89133
After you’ve read the newsletter you may consider leaving it at a bus stop, a park bench, a counter, or a restaurant table, so other individuals who are waiting for their spiritual opportunities can receive them.
May the Blessings Be!

There is an ebb and flow within us.

Sometimes the sea within us is calm, quiet, and submissive.

And then it grows

And it’s waves get larger and stronger,

And they crash upon the shore,

More and more violently.
And just when we think we cannot take another wave,
One crashes into us that seems like the worst one yet.
But still the shore remains,
And in seeing that the shore remains,
The waves back off and quiet once again,
And the sea returns to it’s calm, submissive state.
We become ever new and changed,
For each time we see the shore withstand the beating of the waves,
We become more of who we are -
Strong yet subtle, everlasting, powerful but humble,
Soul.

When I was in college I read a poem that started with the lines: “Things fall apart. The center cannot hold.” It occurred to me recently that this is what the chela in these teachings goes through over and over in their quest for spiritual growth and balance.
The amazing thing is that each time the chela goes through this and surrenders to the waves, not caring what will become of them, knowing that they are in Divine Spirit’s care through the Living Dhunami Master, the Inner Master, they surrender a part of the little self and realize more of themselves as Soul.
When one experiences the Divine qualities of Soul through these trying experiences, a whole new confidence and spiritual desire wells up from deep within, giving all that is needed to complete the spiritual journey within this lifetime.
With Love and Blessings in the flow of Divine Spirit,
Sri Tammy Marché

I would like to thank all of you for your continued spiritual love and support. Sri Tammy and I have much to be grateful for from those of you who truly practice the Dhunami way of life. Your humble use of the daily spiritual exercises, reliance upon the Inner Master, true contemplation of the works and your efforts at surrendering more of the blockages to the flow of Divine Spirit, make our work a bit easier from day to day.
It is always the case that only a relative handful of chelas are true chelas at any time on this direct path to Sugmad, yet it doesn’t really matter because of the overwhelming completeness of the Dhun (Divine Spirit). What is meant here is that regardless of the negativity that may purposefully or inadvertently be directed at the Living Dhunami Master and his Aids, the Divine Love of one true chela can negate the effects of ten who are not currently genuine practitioners.

Sri Tammy mentioned spiritual desire in her remarks and this is what is needed for the individual to continue to gain spiritual ground, growth and sincerity of purpose in Dhunami; in other words become a true chela. Garnering spiritual desire is an interesting process, and as is the case with most precepts in Dhunami, not quite what the mind and the rest of the senses might use in accomplishing the task. Rather than trying to come up with a way to get spiritual desire, one will find that it comes automatically through the process of simplification.
To become less in the lower worlds is to gain more in the spiritual worlds. Becoming less means gradually giving up the complicated processes one uses in accomplishing any task, in favor of the methods of the Divine Dhun Spirit. It’s methods are the ones mentioned in the opening paragraph which are used by the part of you that is interested in spiritual growth and service to Sugmad. To the degree that our interest is stimulated to follow the Dhunami system, our attention also becomes more focused. When our attention is turned to Divine matters, the Eternal Sound Current rushes to serve our desire.
The service provided is that of the Inner Master who answers the call and works hour by hour and day by day to assist the chela in removing blocks, karma and adjusts imbalances in order to create a clearer, purer vehicle for Sugmad’s purpose. The removal of these blocks provides for a less complicated consciousness and a simpler person who now looks to Divine Spirit, the Inner Master to handle more of the inner and outer matters in one’s life. As this simplification of consciousness occurs, more room is made for the pure flow of Divine Dhun and the chela, seeing the miracle before his/her eyes, gains a little more interest in this way of life, puts more attention upon living it, resulting in an increased spiritual desire.
This is the process of spiritual growth. The patience and willingness of the chela to submit to this system over and over will provide remarkable and rapid results in the way of a changed and simplified consciousness; the true miracle of the Dhunami teachings.

I am standing in my backyard in spring.
The grass is green and there are flowers blooming,
But at the same time I am standing in another
completely separate place,
And it is raining gold and purple, streamer-like substances.
It is literally pouring, slow and steady and glimmering,
It cannot be avoided nor do I try.
On contact there is a tingling,
And a deep wonderful bliss spreads from my mid section...
Now this must be what is meant by
‘being in a better place!’

Now I’d like to take this time to talk about the importance of getting clean meats, whether it is the chicken, turkey, pork or beef the individual likes to enjoy. Paul Twitchell wrote in his book Herbs the Magic Healers that one should limit the intake of pork and beef, as it is of a lower vibration and can be too heavy for the individual. Of course, each person must find what is best for themselves, by contemplating on the matter and taking the question in to the Temple Within.
The beef that is produced these days has many added chemicals that are harmful to all individuals, although perhaps not necessarily immediately so. Many of the ranchers are choosing to use growth hormones on the animals so that they get larger faster and therefore can be slaughtered and sold faster, thus increasing the profits of those involved in the sale of the meat as well as meeting the demand for all sorts of meats; ground meat, filet, t-bone, etc.
The problem with these growth hormones is that they are unnatural, and they are not eliminated entirely by the animal before it is consumed by humans. Therefore, in a way, it is as if the individual is slowly but consistently (every time they eat meat) taking a small dose of hormones.
Now your body is made to naturally produce these hormones, and it will do this, but if it sees that you are getting these hormones from somewhere else, then something odd happens to the body. First, you will have an excess of these hormones in your body, and you can notice all sorts of symptoms due to this situation. Hormones regulate nearly every aspect of our bodies, including the regulation of our muscles (which the heart is), help to determine our emotions (especially anxiety), assist us in growing or remaining the same size, and have to do with the immune system of the individual.
Therefore, you can begin to see why hormone levels are so important, and why the gradual intake of levels of hormones foreign and not needed to the body may cause harm. If you have a buildup of these hormones in your body, one of two things will happen: First - you’ll feel the symptoms, the doctor will not know why your hormone levels are elevated, but will put you on pills to regulate the production of your hormones; Second - your body, recognizing the influx of hormones, will stop or slow down production of them. You’ll go to the doctor, again experiencing symptoms, and you will be put on medication to regulate the production of the hormones within yourself.
Yet there is an easier way: stop consuming the extra hormones in the first place. There are “all natural” and “organic” meats that are made from animals grown without the use of hormones, or look for a label that says “r-BGH Free”. There is bison meat, which is protected against the use of hormones by federal law. There are, of course, the meat alternatives such as tofu, tempeh, and others. If you area already experiencing symptoms, a brown rice cleanse will help to remove all built-up toxins in the body and get rid of these unneeded hormones.
